I have been using Flickr since 2007 when I started out with my photographic journey. Flickr is a great place for me to easily share my pictures as I can directly export from Lightroom to Flickr.

Flickr used to be the go-to site for sharing and viewing photos on the internet. But with the advent of social media that changed and sites like Facebook and later on Instagram became the go to site for sharing and viewing photos. It was also a bit of Flickr’s fault as they weren’t just innovative enough to compete and not offering a well-rounded mobile experience.

The Flickr app has still issues up to this day and not much thought is put into the app to improve it. Even the Flickr website still has issues and there are few browser plugins out there to improve your experience on the website. Unfortunately, Flickr is not as popular anymore as it once was, that’s why there are only a handful good plugins.

I was hoping after SmugMug acquired Flickr, changes would come and they would push it forward to become what it once was. That hasn’t happened yet and I don’t know if it ever will. Don’t get me wrong, SmugMug is doing a lot of good things to Flickr.

Another year passed and Flickr showed me my stats for the past year. To be honest, not very impressive stats compared to other people out there.

I don’t have a huge following on Flickr, but it’s still nice that people discover my images and enjoy them. This keeps me going. Thank you to everyone who follows me on Flickr or any other social media site and who favorited my photos on Flickr.

Below is an image with my stats for 2023. My most favorite photo was one of my first pictures ever taken of the Aurora Borealis.

My Flickr Year 2023 described in numbers and shows my most favorited picture of 2023. It is a picture of the Aurora Borealis.

So many great memories for 2023 and I can’t wait for what’s in store for 2024. Follow me on Flickr and join along on my adventures all over the globe.
