Participating in the Share the Experience Amateur Photo Contest 2023

The Share the Experience photo contest is hosted by recreation.gov, which is the government’s centralized travel planning platform and reservation system for 13 federal agencies. One of these agencies is the well-known National Park Service. I love National Parks and I am a permanent annual pass holder.
Every year there is a photo contest where amateur photographers can share their moments, experiences and they encountered beauty of federal lands.
The photo has to be taken on the lands, waters, or within the facilities of these participating agencies:
- National Park Service
- U.S. Bureau of Land Management
- U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
- U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
- U.S. Forest Service
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
This year pictures can be submitted in the following categories:
- Outdoors for all
- Everyday Adventures
- History & Heritage
- Scenery & Seasons
- Wildlife
- Night Skies
The prizes are not bad either and range from a cash price of up to $10.000, complimentary hotel stays, swag and the biggest honor for me, that my picture will show up at the front of the annual National Park Pass.
Please support me by checking out my photos and commenting. You can find my submissions here.
Since I am still considered Amateur and not professional, I want to use the last chances I have to enter the Share the Experience contest before I eventually become a professional photographer. Maybe, I will never be professional photographer. We will see what life has in stock for me. Either way, I will continue to shoot and share awesome pictures and experiences with everyone here and on my travel blog.
I haven’t participated in many photo contests over the years but I think this is another way to get my work out there and have other people look at it and see it. Wish me luck. Maybe I could even inspire you, to submit your own images to the contest.
