Original Story

Amazon (parent company and owner) of DPReview, has decided to shut down the site on April 10th, 2023. What a sad moment in time for all of us interested in photography and more.  DPReview started in the late ’90s and has continued until today to bring amazing content about everything photography. It’s sad that the site will shut down. It’s not only sad that there will be no future content, but the site will also be erased from the internet. After April 10, the site will go into a read-only mode and after an undefined time, the site won’t be reachable at all anymore. Take your vacation days now so you can soak up all the content before it goes away.

Here is the message posted on the website.

Dear readers,

After nearly 25 years of operation, DPReview will be closing in the near future. This difficult decision is part of the annual operating plan review that our parent company shared earlier this year.

The site will remain active until April 10, and the editorial team is still working on reviews and looking forward to delivering some of our best-ever content.

Everyone on our staff was a reader and fan of DPReview before working here, and we’re grateful for the communities that formed around the site.

Thank you for your support over the years, and we hope you’ll join us in the coming weeks as we celebrate this journey.

Sincerely,

Scott Everett
General Manager – DPReview.com

Last but not least the goodbye video from Chris and Jordan.

But this is not the end of Chris and Jordan as they teased in the video above. The dynamic duo will continue on. Chris and Jordan will move over to Peta Pixel to lead their YouTube channel. Continuing bringing gear reviews and even more content. New videos will be starting to pop up on Peta Pixel’s YouTube channel in May.

Update 2023-06-20

After many rumors about what’s going to happen with DPReview, there is finally good news now. DPReview is here to stay, at least for now. DPReview got acquired by Gear Patrol. Nothing will change. All the historical content will still be available and DPReview will continue as before. There is only one big downside. Chris and Jordan are now at Peta Pixel.
