Where to Find Your Adobe Firefly AI Generative Credits

Everything revolves around AI nowadays. Everywhere you look you see companies adding AI to their products. AI is the buzzword of 2024. Sometimes I even question why some companies add AI to certain products or features. One of the most talked about AI tools is Adobe Firefly which is integrated into multiple products like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Express. Generative fill in Photoshop is a highly talked about feature. It’s amazing and can help you with your workflow and speed up things.
By the way, the header image of this post was created with Adobe Express.
To keep things fair, Adobe is issuing credits to every user. Every time you use an AI feature like when you hit “Generate” in photoshop for generative fill, you are using up one of your credits.
How many credits do I get?
The number of generative credits you get depends on your plan. It also depends on if you are a single user or enterprise user. But let’s focus on single users, like most of you folks are.
Below is a table with the most common plan types.
| Plan | Monthly generative credits |
|---|---|
| Creative Cloud All Apps | 1,000 |
| Creative Cloud Single App Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Animate, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Stock, Photography 1TB | 500 |
| Creative Cloud Single App Creative Cloud Photography 20GB: Subscribers before November 1, 2023 | 250 |
| Creative Cloud Single App Creative Cloud Photography 20GB: Subscribers after November 1, 2023 | 100 |
| Creative Cloud Single App Lightroom | 100 |
| Creative Cloud Single App InCopy, Substance 3D Collection, Substance 3D Texturing, Acrobat Pro | 25 |
| Free Accounts (no paid subscription) | 25 |
You can find this table above, with more details about more plans on Adobe’s website.
When do Credits reset?
Credits reset every month. Users with a paid subscription get more generative credits allocated on the plan’s initial billing date. If the plan started on the 10th of the month, the credits would renew on the 10th of each month.
Free users without a paid subscription will receive 25 credits upon the first-time use of a Firefly-powered feature. These credits will expire one month after first use of the Firefly-powered feature. Generative credits are allocated again upon the first-time use of a Firefly-powered feature for any subsequent months.
Where to find my available credits?
Unfortunately, you can’t see your generative credits in the Creative Cloud app on your desktop. I know, that’s where it should be and eventually will be. However, for the moment, you have to go to your account page on Adobe.com.
You can do so by clicking on “Manage Account” on the right side of the Creative Cloud desktop app. This will open up your account page in your browser.
Alternatively, you can go straight to https://account.adobe.com/
Once there, click on your avatar at the very top right corner of the window and a little window will pop up. Inside you will see your available credits and how many you have used. Unfortunately, it doesn’t show your account’s reset date. You have to find that in your accounts billing section.
More about Adobe Generative Credits
Adobe started enforcing generative credits on January 17, 2024. Generative Credits don’t roll over month to month. They will reset every month on the date for your billing cycle.
If you used up all your credits, it depends on which plan you are on. Until April 1, 2024, the following limits apply.
- Creative Cloud and Adobe Stock paid users can keep taking generative AI actions, but using generative AI features may be slower.
- Adobe Express and Adobe Firefly paid users can take two generative AI actions to create vector graphics or standard resolution* images per day.
- Free Creative Cloud, Adobe Firefly, and Adobe Express users can subscribe to a new paid plan to continue creating Firefly-powered assets.
This information was taken from the Adobe website. Check the site after April 1, 2024, to see what will change for the different subscriptions and your plan.
The Future…
I assume that Adobe will introduce a way to buy more generative credits after April 1, 2024.
Adobe Firefly integration into multiple tools is really helpful and it will also be a new money maker for Adobe besides the subscription plans the company already offers.
